Q: I don't see the drug I am looking for in the list of drugs.
A:  There is no information on that drug.

Q: My license has expired or I want to add concurrent users - how do I update it?

A:  To update your software license call: (888) 742-0264 - toll-free or (707) 257-7566 - local/international.  Your license will be updated over the telephone and takes just a few minutes. Make sure you call from a location where you have access to a computer and the King Guide software.


Q:
How many network licenses do I need?
A: You must have one license for each computer you run the software on. NOTE: You can purchase additional licenses over the phone at any time for immediate expanded access.


Q:
What should I do with my outdated CD after I receive my update?
A:  Please be aware the outdated editions of the King Guide are not to be used in a clinical setting or for advising or treating patients as information may have become obsolete or changed. 

I don’t see the drug I need information for in the ‘Select 2nd Drug’ list.   Why not?
There is no information available on that drug with the first drug selected.

I don’t see the drug I need information for in the ‘Select 1st Drug’ list.   Why not?
There is no information on the drug in the King Guide.

What is the fastest way to look up a drug combination?
Just start typing in the ‘Select 1st Drug’ box.  As you type matching entries a filled in for you.  Once the drug name you want is displayed, press Tab or Enter to move to the ‘Next’ button and then press ‘Enter’ to see the drug monograph summary for the drug you’ve selected.  This will advance your cursor to the ‘Select 2nd Drug’ box.  Start typing until the drug name you want is filled in for you.  Press Enter to advance to the ‘View Monograph’ button, and press Enter to view the monograph.

How can I print a particular page?
Click the print button while viewing a monograph.

How do I search for combinations of more than two IV drugs?
Click View, Multiple Drugs.  Add as many IV drugs as you want to the search list by clicking on a highlighted drug from the main the word wheel: as you begin typing a drug name, the word wheel jumps to drug names that match what you have typed so far - once the drug you want is highlighted on the word wheel double-click it or press Enter to add it to the search list.  As you add drugs to the search list, the results are immediately displayed.  Click any drug combination in the results windows to view the monograph text.

How can I install and run the King Guide on my network?
Network Installation:

1. Insert the CD and run the setup program on the computer  that is acting as the server.

2. On the Client computer, map a network drive to the folder on the server created with read/write permission.

3. On the Client computer, create a desktop icon that uses the drive letter created above as follows:

· Right Click anywhere on the desktop

· Click New, Shortcut

· A box will appear asking for the location of the item.  Either browse to the network location where the file “King Guide.exe” is and click on it or enter the drive letter created above followed by a colon and “King Guide.exe”.  For example, if you mapped drive Z: to the folder on the server that contains the file “King Guide.exe” then you would enter “Z:\King Guide.exe”.

4. The first time you start the program you will be prompted to enter your serial from above.

We have added stability information for one new drug product:  PANTOPRAZOLE.  We are also reporting the results of compatibility studies for PANTOPRAZOLE in admixture with 90 parenteral products including: CASPOFUNGIN ACETATE, CIPROPLOXACIN,
ENALAPRILAT, FLUCONAZOLE, LEVOFLOXACIN, MEROPENEM, PROPOFOL, VASOPRESSIN, and ZIDOVUDINE.  Also included in the enclosed supplement is additional compatibility information for CEFTRIAXONE used with calcium-containing products.  Past Updates
